International Project Management

Mr. Habermann is one of a few “wow!” professors whose courses I attended. I am writing this reference already a year ago since the beginning of one-semester-course of “International Project management”, studying at another university in another country. On one of our lectures today the professor asked what was the most exciting academic experience so far and that question arose memories about Mr. Habermann’s class. I was lucky to be a part of the “LipDub” movie project team and all the great interactive seminars during WS 2012/13. Speaking of the classes – the best thing which a professor could do, from my point of view, is explaining the concepts on catchy examples, and there was a plenty of those – starting from really funny ones when I felt quite ridiculous (but also fun) performing a stupid role and finishing our big real project of shooting a short music movie. The amazing thing is that we got the opportunity to learn in an untraditional way PM concepts and they really got stuck in my memory. Mr. Habermann’s class is about thinking out of the box, it is about being creative, finding unexpected solutions, appreciating other people’s opinion and work, overcoming difficulties, risking, and it is definitively about hardworking if one wants to get a great studying experience.

I really enjoyed the Ballgame, when we understood the differences between agile and traditional project planning ... and that it is worth taking calculated risks. Secondly, of course, the big movie project was a fantastic experience, and the theoretical parts contained good stuff, too (with nicely drafted slides). To sum it up: this course was simply great!

I liked Prof. Habermanns's way of teaching. Very relaxed, very illustrative. And a lot of entertainment, too. But never missing the point.

In this course, you have to do a lot for your grade. But it's all worth it!!!

Pretty much enjoyed the course, the project work in particular. We had a great team and I guess, I've learned some useful stuff about PM.

Der prof ist einfach gut. Er ist jung, dynamisch und man merkt, dass er auf Zack ist. Es kommt viel Input, auch in Form von zusätzlichen Vorträgen und Seminaren, hat viele Ideen, ist realistisch, fair und objektiv und ehrlich. Die Vorlesung gehörte definitiv zu den empfehlenswerten meines Lebens und die Note war auch ok.
Weiter so, Herr Professor!

I learned a lot during the big project!
Test exam was very fair as a practice for the real exam. Prof is always there for questions. He is very supportive!

Best lecture was, when he was telling us about different attitudes of people --> LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Even if the course means a hell of work, it is all worth it. I have learnt a lot, and it mostly was a lot of fun, too. With this course, Prof. Habermann became my favorite lacturer at HWR.
